When I was a little child, I lived in the Kingdom of my Mother and Father.
Couched as a children’s story in this retelling, The Hymn of the Pearl is a spiritually significant tale that spans centuries and answers some of life’s most pressing questions: “Where did I come from?” “Why am I here?” and “What is my pearl (or purpose) here?”
Meet the Author
LORI NIELSEN DRIGGS and her husband, Paul, live in South Jordan, Utah. They are the parents of six children and eight grandchildren. Lori loves learning and studying—especially the scriptures. This beautiful hymn is one of her favorites. She is so grateful to work with Mandy Green, who brought the hymn back to her attention and expanded her love of the scriptures. She feels so blessed to have Tshikamba (the beautiful Melissa Kamba Boggs) bring it to life with her glorious illustrations.
Meet the Illustrator
TSHIKAMBA obtained a Bachelor of Fine Art from Brigham Young University. A love of sacred imagery, history, the ethereal, mythology, cosmology, Mother Nature, and her ancestral heritage inspires her art. Tschikamba was raised in a mixed-race family in Alberta, Canada, which instilled in her a love for art and the Divine. As a visual and kinesthetic learner, she noticed early on there weren’t many images that looked like herself, or her siblings. This fueled her passion to help shift that narrative and create images that are a better reflection of our human family. She hopes to instill a message of self-love and empowerment to all those who view her art.
